No matter what style you are going for the number one rule of flawless application is light and sheer layers.
Master this in every step, form foundation to lip color and your skin will shine beautifully every time.
All that is required to pull this off is patience. Use a little bit of product to begin and keep adding a little, thinly layering, until your desired look is achieved.
Having the right quality tools, ex: brushes made of sable or squirrel or high quality makeup, is a huge help. But, with out the right technique you can cake on your makeup even with the best money can buy.
Remember… makeup is not plastic surgery! It simply enhances your natural beauty. So when you’re trying to decide what style to sport today pick a feature that you really want to draw attention to.
If you want to give a really deep look to your eyes and have them be the first thing people notice use darker shadow and liner on the outer lash line as well as in the inner eye.
If you then just highlight your cheek bones and give your lips a light color, you are essentially giving the spot light to your eyes. This will give others a place to focus on when looking at you, like a target, and give you a striking, memorable appearance.
Makeup is all about balance. Don’t try to do too much with one look. Remember what you are trying to achieve and stick with that. If you’re in the mood for a sweet look stick with light colors, like pinks, and, as always not too much makeup! Adding a dark color to your lips will be too drastic.
Again, the best advice that is applicable to any face is sheer layers. Makeup products promise that will give your skin perfect coverage, and yes some products are better than others. But, remember, it shouldn’t be obvious that you’re wearing makeup.
Do you want the first thing that people think to be that you’re wearing makeup?
Or, that you simply look beautiful?
The makeup and colors on your face become a secondary thought. |
